Pitt State Finishes Seventh in Learfield Directors' Cup Standings

Gorillas Record Highest National Finish

CLEVELAND — Pittsburg State University Athletics finished in seventh place in the final 2024-25 NCAA Division II Learfield Directors' Cup standings released today (June 10).

The Gorillas seventh place national finish is the school's top all-time placement in the Learfield Director's Cup standings. The school's previous high finish was 10th place during the 2023-24 academic year.

The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 14 sports - seven women's and seven men's.

The Gorillas, who field 14 intercollegiate sports, compiled 709 points overall – 152 points during the fall, 283 points during the winter and 274 points during the spring.

Grand Valley State University captured the 2024-25 Learfield Directors' Cup crown with 1080.5 points.

Three additional MIAA institutions finished in the top 20 in the 2024-25 directors' cup standings behind Pitt State: Washburn, 15th (556 pts.); Central Missouri, 16th (554 pts.); and Central Oklahoma, 18th (546 pts.).
