PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced today its decision to partner with Opendorse, the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) support program geared to prepare student-athletes for upcoming NIL management solutions.
Opendorse has experience maximizing endorsement value for thousands of professional athletes since 2012 and has quickly become a leader in the collegiate space.
"We are excited to launch this partnership with Opendorse on behalf of our Gorilla student-athletes," PSU Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Jim Johnson said. "Opendorse has been great to work with and supportive of the MIAA, and its member institutions, to help better serve our Division II student-athletes.
"While NIL is still taking shape, especially in DII, it is critical that we provide education and access to managed solutions in this space to our student-athletes. And it is important we do this through a third party who has their thumb on the pulse of what is going on with NIL across the country in intercollegiate athletics.
"We are excited to announce this partnership today and look forward to implementing the program with our student-athletes and staff in the coming month."
Founded by Nebraska Football alumni Blake Lawrence and Adi Kunalic, Opendorse has become a proven market leader in helping sports organizations and their athletes prepare and execute social media programs to increase the value of their Name, Image and Likeness (NIL).
