Pittsburg State Gorillas

Second-year player… a talented righthander with good movement on his pitches… figures to challenge for a top role in the Gorillas’ starting rotation again this spring… made 10 appearances in 2010, including eight starts… posted a 3-3 record with a 5.68 ERA… struck out 40 batters in 57.0 innings of work… limited SBU to two hits and one unearned run in his first PSU win on Mar. 15.

In Junior College:  Spent two seasons at Cowley C.C. … posted a 7-2 record with a 2.00 ERA as a sophomore in 2009, earning second-team All-Jayhawk Conference honors… helped the Tigers to an 83-33 combined record (2008-09) and consecutive Jayhawk Conference crowns… helped Cowley post a 48-15 record and claim the Region VI title in 2009.

In High School:  A two-time Kansas Class 4A All-State performer at Jefferson West High School (2006-07)… posted a 7-1 record with a 1.82 ERA as a senior in 2007… also posted a 6-1 record with a 1.62 ERA.

Personal:  Born October 13, 1988… son of Roland and Sharrell Schell… has a 3.36 GPA as a history/government major.
