Pittsburg State Gorillas

Third-year player… a talented righthander who is expected to challenge for a spot in the Gorillas’ rotation again this spring… made four appearances last in 2010, starting three games… posted a 1-2 record with a 8.50 ERA… appeared in 12 games, including nine starts, for the Gorillas in 2009… posted a 2-6 record with a 6.54 ERA in 59.7 innings of work… earned his first win at Pitt State in a 6-5 decision against No. 13 Central Missouri (Feb. 27)… also tossed a five-hit combined shutout vs. Truman (Mar. 20).

In Junior College:  Spent one season at Allen County Community College… signed with NCAA Division I Boston College out of high school.

In High School:  A two-time All-Area performer at Pittsburg High School… also a two-time first-team All-Southeast Kansas League selection.

Personal:  Born October 18, 1987… son of Jeff and Thersa Kavanagh… a finance major.
