Biography

General: Fifth-year player… a talented wide receiver who overcame injuries early in his career and evolved into a frontline performer for the Gorillas… an All-MIAA performer as both a wide receiver and return specialist… has compiled 1,265 career receiving yards (82 catches, 15.4 ypc)… expected to play a key role in the Gorillas’ receiving corps again this fall… a 2017 PSU team captain.

In 2016: Started all 11 games… caught 41 passes for 755 yards (18.4 ypc) and five touchdowns… carried the ball 18 times for 171 yards (9.5 ypc)… also averaged 11.9 yards on 27 punt returns (1 TD), ranking third in the MIAA and 22nd in Division II… caught five passes for a career-high 134 yards and a TD vs. LWU (Sept. 24)… also returned a punt 71 yards for a score against LWU, earning MIAA Special Teams Player of the Week honors… also enjoyed a 100-yard receiving game with seven grabs for 102 yards vs. ESU (Oct. 22)… earned second-team All-MIAA and third-team All-Super Region Three Honors as a return specialist and honorable mention All-MIAA honors at wide receiver.

In 2015: Started five of 11 games… caught 21 passes for 260 yards (12.4 ypc) and one touchdown… also averaged 25.0 yards on a pair of punt returns… caught four passes for a career-high 92 yards vs. ESU (Oct. 10).

In 2014: Started five of 13 games… caught 20 passes for 250 yards (12.5 ypc) and three TDs on the season… also rushed the ball six times for 40 yards… caught five passes for a season-high 84 yards and three TDs in PSU’s come-from-behind win over Harding in the first round of the NCAA-II playoffs.

In 2012-13: Missed the 2013 due to an injury suffered during preseason camp, after redshirting his initial year in the program (2012).

In High School: A Missouri Class 6A All-State selection at wide receiver as a senior at Lee’s Summit West High in 2011… a two-time All-Conference performer (2010-11)… helped the Titans to a 14-1 record and the Class 6A state title as a junior in 2010… helped LSW to a 12-2 mark his senior season.

Personal: Born April 22, 1994… son of Mike and Tracy Panko… a five-year member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll… graduated with a bachelor’s degree in construction management in December 2016… currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration (MBA).
