Pittsburg State Gorillas

General: Fourth-year player… a talented cornerback who is looking to build on an All-MIAA junior season… expected to start for the Gorillas again this fall.

In 2013: Appeared in all 12 games with 11 starts… earned third-team All-MIAA honors after totaling 39 tackles (22 solo) with 2.5 tackles-for-loss and 2.0 quarterback sacks… recorded a team-high 10 pass break-ups and three INTs… currently ranks fifth at PSU in career PBUs (21).

In 2012: Started all 10 games… recorded 21 tackles (14 solo), 2.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 quarterback sacks, two pass breakups and a team-high three interceptions on the season… tallied eight tackles, a sack and an interception vs. Central Oklahoma (Sept. 8).

In 2011: Saw action in all 14 games… made 20 tackles (15 solo), 2.0 tackles-for-loss, 1.0 quarterback sacks, one interception and nine pass breakups… logged five tackles and an interception in the NCAA-II semifinals vs. Delta State (Dec. 10)… returned a blocked punt 19 yards for a touchdown vs. Missouri Southern (Nov. 12).

In High School: A three-time All-State performer at Hogan Prep High School (2008-10), earning All-State honors at defensive back in 2008 and 2010 and All-State honors at wide receiver in 2009 and 2010… caught 88 career passes for 2,498 yards (28.3 ypc) and 15 touchdowns… defensively, made 178 career tackles with 22 interceptions.

Personal: Born January 15, 1993… son of Hosea Bausby and Tasha Word… a marketing major.
