Biography


General: Fourth-year player… a talented and versatile athlete who made the move to the secondary from quarterback during spring drills… adjusted well and will look to battle for playing time for the Gorillas this fall.

In 2012: Saw action in three games as a backup quarterback… completed five of five passes (1.000) for 68 yards on the season… carried the ball five times for 13 yards (2.6 ypc).

In 2011: Saw action in four games before suffering a season-ending injury… completed two of two passes (1.000) for 21 yards on the year… also carried the ball five times for 27 yards (5.4 ypc).

In 2010: Redshirt season.

In High School: A first-team Missouri Class 5A All-State selection as a senior at Raytown South High in 2009… the 5A Offensive MVP… helped the Cardinals to a 10-4 record and a state semifinal appearance in 2009… a three-year starter… carried the ball 238 ties for 1,247 yards and completed 307 passes for 4,575 yards and 50 TDs during his prep career… helped guide the Cardinals to a 12-2 record and the 5A state runner-up finish in 2008.

Personal: Born October 4, 1991… son of Dennis and Misty Tanner… a construction management major.
