Biography

General: Sixth-year player… a hard working player who has matured into a frontline performer for Pitt State… figures to battle for a starting role at defensive end for the Gorillas again this fall.

In 2017: Saw action in 11 games, including two starts… made 16 tackles (five solo) with 2.5 tackles-for-loss and 1.0 quarterback sack… made a season-high three tackles vs. UCO (Sept. 16).

In 2016: Saw action in all 11 games in a reserve role… made 10 tackles (six solo) with 2.0 tackles-for-loss and 1.0 quarterback sack… made a season-high three tackles vs. WU (Oct. 1).

In 2015: Saw action in six games in a reserve role in 2015… made four tackles (three solo) on the season… did not see any action in 2014, after redshirting in his initial season in the program (2013).

In High School: A two-time first-team Missouri Class 4A selection at Webb City High School (2011-12)… recorded 83 tackles as a senior and 57 stops as a junior in 2011… tallied 21 quarterback sacks in his prep career… received All-District accolades his final two seasons…helped WCHS to a 30-0 record and back-to-back Missouri Class 4A state championships his junior and senior seasons.

Personal: Born October 30, 1994… son of Brian Speer and Neysa Rosario… a two-year member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll… has a 3.12 GPA as a physical education major.
