Biography


General: Fourth-year player… a hard working safety who has evolved into a fronline player for the Gorillas… expected to battle for a starting role for Pitt State this fall.

In 2014: Saw action in all 13 games in a reserve role and special teams… made 30 tackles (11 solo) with 2.0 tackles-for-loss… also recorded an interception he returned 43 yards for a touchdown vs. Washburn (Sept. 20).

In 2013: Appeared in all 12 games in a reserve role and special teams… tallied 12 tackles (eight solo) with 1.5 tackles-for-loss and one fumble recovery on the season.

In 2012: Redshirt season.

In High School: An All-City and All-Conference performer as a senior at Wichita Heights High in 2011… helped the Falcons to the Kansas Class 6A state runner-up finish, making 117 tackles with four interceptions and four forced fumbles… helped guide Heights to the Class 6A state title as a junior in 2010.

Personal: Born October 17, 1993… son of Andrea Gatson… an exercise science major.
