Biography

Second year player... a promising prospect as both a corner infielder and a pitcher... expected to play a more prominent role for the Gorillas this spring after seeing limited action as a freshman in 2011.

In 2011: Made nine pitching appearances, all in relief... posted a 1-0 record with a 4.05 ERA and one save in 6 2/3 innings of work... also made six starts at first base... batted .143 with a double and two RBIs in limited plate appearances.

In High School: A three-year starter for the Broncos... broke the school record for hits his junior year, then again his senior year... a multiple-time All-Conference performer in baseball and football... helped Lee's Summit North to a Missouri Class 5A state runner-up finish in 2009.

Personal: Born June 27, 1991... son of Chris and Rita Phillips... a management major.
