Jesse Miller

Jesse Miller enters his third season as an assistant coach for the Pittsburg State University track & field program after spending the previous year at Indian Hills Community College.
 
Miller is responsible for coaching the long jump, triple jump and high jump for the Gorillas.
 
Miller has garnered NCAA Division II National Assistant Coach of the Years honors four times during his tenure at Pitt State. He was named the National Assistant Coach of the Year for both men's indoor and outdoor track & field in 2023. He also received COY honors for women's outdoor track & field in 2024 and, most recently, for women's indoor track & field in 2025.

In his one season at Indian Hills Community College, Miller was responsible for the high, triple and long jumps as well as assisting with sprints. Miller coached the jumpers at Indian Hills to break 13 school records, while developing six national qualifiers and five All-Americans. Miller was a part of a coaching staff that led Indian Hills to its best overall season as a program.
 
In the 2021-22 season for Indian Hills, Miller coached IHCC’s first All-Americans in the triple jump as well as the high jump on the women’s side. Miller coached only the second ever triple jump men’s All-American. 
 
Before his time coaching at Indian Hills Community College, Miller was a private athletic development coach in the Kansas City, Mo., area. During this time, he assisted athletes of all ages in developing their athletic potential.
 
During Miller’s time as a student-athlete at University of Central Missouri, he qualified to compete at 11 national championship meets, earning two first-team All-American awards in the high jump as well as five second-team awards in the long and triple jump. Miller helped the Mules win two MIAA Championships while scoring in the high, triple and long jumps.
 
Miller earned bachelor’s degrees in kinesiology and sports nutrition from UCM.
