Brooke Fay, rom Kansas City, Mo., led the Gorillas in kills (46 for 2.88 kps), hitting percentage (.547) and blocks (15 - 3 bs, 12 ba) and tied for the team lead in services aces with four.

She led the Gorillas in kills in three matches, recording 10 kills vs. East Central, 12 against Saint Leo, a match in which she recorded no hitting errors, and 12 against Christian Brothers. Though she did not lead the lead the team against Harding, she also recorded double digit kills in that match with 12. 

Against St. Leo, Fay also led the team with five blocks. She recorded no fewer than three blocks in any match on the weekend.

Though the Gorillas opened the season with a homr tournament, Tuesday will be the first match the Gorillas will play in the newly renovated John Lance Arena. The team will have been practicing on the new floor for less than a week when the match is played. 

Pitt State begind play against one of the MIAA's newest members with a 7-1 record, after starting the season with a seven-game winning streak. The Gorillas are hitting .272 as a team and average 14.7 kills, 13.4 assists, 1.3 aces, 16.2 digs and 2.2 blocks per set. 

Individually, Fay leads the team with 3.04 kills per set and a .424 hitting percentage. Crystal Whitten adds 2.93 kps, Paula Okrutna, 2.62 kps, and Leah Flynn 2.86 kps to round out PSU regulars with 2.00 kills per set or more. Nicole Rockhold helps the team on offense with a team-leading 14 service aces. Becca Pearson is the top setter in the team's two-setter system, averaging 7.41 assists per set. Hayley Hansford adds 4.61 aps. 

Defensively, four Gorillas average two or more digs per set with Sam Wyatt leading the team with 3.00 dps. Rockhold adds 2.86 dps, Christa McCaw, 2.31 dps, and Crystal Whittern, 2.24 dps. Chloe Foster is the team's top blocker with 30 blocks on the season for 1.20 blocks per set. Fay has 21 blocks on the season and Paula Okrutna added 20 in the first eight matches of the season.

The Central Oklahoma Bronchos come into PIttsburg with a 3-5 record on the young season. The team spent the first weekend of the season in Denton, Texas at the Texas Woman's Tournament. The team earned wins over Arkansas Monticello, 3-1, and East Central, 3-0 and fell to New Mexico Highlands and Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras each 3-2. The second weekend, the team lost three 3-2 matches to McKendree, Arkansas-Monticello and Arkansas Tech, and defeated Lindenwood.

The Brochos hit .176 as a team and average 11.7 kills per set. Defensively, the team adds 15.9 digs per set and 2.3 blocks per set.

Morgan Roy is the team's leading hitter with 3.85 kills per set. The team utilizes two setters, who are less than an assist per set apart from each other. Tate Hardaker leads the team with 5.00 digs per set. Four different players have 20 blocks or more on the season, Juliette Smith (30), Jordan Jacobs (27), Talia Stanley (25) and Barbara Jackson (21).
