PITTSBURG, Kan. -- The Gorilla Volleyball team will host rival Missouri Southern at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19 at John Lance Arena. 

The match is a non-conference meeting for the teams due to schedule changes based on the teams added to the MIAA conference. As such, they game will not count in the Sonic Trophy Series standings, but Sonic will still be on hand with giveaways for all fans before the game and will also sponsor prizes for the serving contest between sets two and three.

The Gorillas enter the match on a four-game skid with a 7-4 overall record and a 0-3 record in conference play. Pitt State lost 3-0 to its first three conference opponents, Central Oklahoma, Nebraska-Kearney and Fort Hays State.

Missouri Southern is 0-10 on the season and 0-2 in MIAA play. The Lions have yet to play a home match in the 2012 season. The team has lost 21 straight sets. Its first two conference matches were against Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri.
