PITTSBURG, Kan. -- The Gorilla Volleyball team (8-6, 0-5 MIAA) will be looking for its first MIAA win as the Southwest Baptist Bearcats come to John Lance Arena on Wednesday (Sept. 26) at 7 p.m.

The Bearcats are 4-9 overall and 0-3 in MIAA play. They average 11.1 kills per set, while allowing opponents 13.1 kps. Defensively, SBU gets 15.8 digs and 2.0 blocks per set.

Jordan Nedbalek leads the team with a .337 hitting percentage and 2.28 kills per set. She also leads the team in blocks with 49 on the season.  Kaitlyn Allison leads the team with 4.92 digs per set.

Four Gorilla players average more than two kills per set. Leah Flynn leads the team with 2.58 kps. Brooke Fay and Crystal Whitten are just behind with 2.51 and Paula Oklrutna adds 2.42. Pitt State has been strong with their serving attack, recording 52 service aces on the season. Nicole Rockhold leads the team with 15 aces.

Five Gorillas also average more than two digs per set with Rockhold leading the team with 2.86 dps. Sam Wyatt adds 2.52, while Becca Pearson (2.09), Christa McCaw (2.06) and Whitten (2.04) are just over 2.0 digs per set. Jordan Rehm has recently been playing libero for the Gorillas and is averaging 3.06 dps in the 16 sets she has played.

Blocking continues to be Pitt State's strong point as they put down 2.09 bps. Fay leads the team with 37 total blocks for 0.82 blocks per set. Chloe Foster has 31 blocks on the year for 1.00 bps. Okrutna has added 27 blocks to the Gorilla effort.
