PITTSBURG, Kan. -- The Gorilla Volleyball team defeated NAIA Saint Mary, 3-1 (25-18, 25-22, 23-25, 25-20) in a non-conference match on Friday (October 25) evening in John Lance Arena.

Pitt State recorded 65 kills in the four set match and added 11 team blocks.

Despite playing only two sets, Madi Mosier paced the Gorillas with 12 kills. She had only one error in 17 attempts to earn a .647 hitting percentage for the match. Maggie Highberger also hit double figure kills with 10 and Paula Okrutna added 11. Okrutna also led the team with 10 block assists. Adrienn Amaro and Hayley Hansford each controlled the setter position for two sets. Hansford recorded 28 assists, while Amaro had 24. Three players had double figure digs, Sam Wyatt, 13, and Ashlen Schwartz and Jordan Rehm each with 10.

PItt State will return to conference action on Saturday (October 26) at 3 p.m. against Lindenwood.
