LIBERTY, Mo. -- Morgan Westhoff and Lizzy Jeronimus combined for 32 points to pace Pittsburg State University to an 80-58 victory over William Jewell College Tuesday (Nov. 19).

Westhoff scored all 17 of her points in the first half as Pitt State (4-2) built a commanding 46-21 advantage over WJC (2-1). Westhoff connected on six of eight shots from the field in the opening period, including four 3-pointers.

The Gorillas shot 51.7 percent from the floor in the game, hitting 31 of 60 shots.

Jeronimus added 15 points and a team-leading six rebounds for Pitt State, while Cathy Brugman and Antqunita Reede also reached double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

The Gorillas limited the Cardinals to 29.1 percent shooting as WJC converted just 16 of 55 shots, including five of 25 shooting from 3-point range.

Cassy Nicolay led three WJC players in double figures with 15 points, while Chelsea Meeks and Kelsey Nickerson added 10 apiece.

Pitt State, which won its third straight game, will return to action Sunday (Nov. 24) when the Gorillas host MIAA rival Northwest Missouri State University in a non-conference tilt beginning at 2 p.m. (CST) at John Lance Arena.
