Fun Activities Surround Gorilla Volleyball This Weekend

PITTSBURG, Kan. -- Pitt State Athletics has some fun Acitivites planned surrounding the Gorilla Volleyball team's last home games this weekend. These activities, and all Pitt State home volleyball matches are free.

On Friday, the Gorillas will host a Halloween costume contest for all ages. The team will take on Northwest Missouri at 7 p.m. The costume contest will take place between sets two and three and will be judged by head men's basketball coach Kevin Muff, assistant women's basketball coach Amanda Davied and one men's and one women's basketball player. Prizes will be awarded in the following age groups, infant to 5th grade, grades 6-12, college and adult. Prizes include gift certificates from Jock's Nitch, Chatters, University Bookstore and Fuzzy's. 

On Saturday, the team will honor seniors Ashley Bell, Haylee Gregory, Paula Okrutna and Aimee Wood prior to the team taking on Missouri Western at 3 p.m.

Pitt State is currently 8-16 overall and 5-11 in MIAA matches. Northwest Missouri has a 9-15 overall record with a 6-10 league mark. Missouri Western is second in the league standings with a 19-5 overall record and a 13-3 conference record.
