PITTSBURG, Kan. -- The Pittsburg State volleyball team added another win to its record with a 3-2 (23-25, 25-22, 25-23, 23-25, 15-8) victory over Northwest Missouri on Friday (Oct. 31) evening.
The Gorillas tallied nine fewer kills than the Bearcats, but had six fewer errors and six fewer service errors, helping them to the win.
Every set was close, but the final was the most thrilling, with sevn ties and three lead changes. The teams went point-for-point up to 8-8 before the Gorillas were able to pull ahead.
Madi Mosier led teh team with 15 kills and added 11 digs for a double-double. Hope Joyner added 13 kills. Paula Okrutna was just under double figures with nine kills, while Haylee Gregory and Ashley Bell added eight a piece. Gregory led the team with five blocks. Ashlen Schwartz led the Gorillas with 28 digs. Aimee Wood recorded 13 digs. Hayley Hansford added a double-double with 10 digs and 47 assists.
Pitt State will take on Missouri Western in its final match tomorrow at 3 p.m. The four Gorilla seniors will be honored prior to the match.
