PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University volleyball team will make its home debut Tuesday (Sept. 16) by hosting Southwest Baptist University in the MIAA opener for both schools. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at Whetzel Court/John Lance Arena.
 
The Gorillas enter Tuesday's action with a 3-5 overall record. Pitt State posted a 1-3 record last weekend in Colorado. The Gorillas went 1-2 in tournament matches in the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs Invitational, before dropping a road match to Colorado State University-Pueblo.
 
Sophomore Madi Mosier leads the Pitt State offense, averaging 3.71 kills and 4.13 points per set. Ary Crittleton also contributes 2.64 kills and 3.00 points per set, while Paula Okrutna averages 2.50 kills and 2.91 points per set. Okrutna missed last weekend's action due to injury, while Crittleton also has played in four of the Gorillas' eight matches on the season.
 
SBU enters Tuesday's match with a 5-3 record.  The Bearcats posted a 1-3 record at the Northern State University Invitational at Aberdeen, S.D., last weekend after opening the season 4-0.
