ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- The Pitt State volleyball team fell to 0-15 on the season with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-20) loss at Missouri Western on Saturday (October 3).
The Gorillas were able to keep the sets close, but Missouri Western hit just slightly better, .137 to .227, put down one more block and landed seven services aces to only three for Pitt State. Pitt State had only two fewer kills than the Griffons.
Maggie Highberger put down nine kills for the Gorillas. Taylor Unke hit at a .600 clip with seven kills and only one error. Erin Wolford added five kills with only one error. Wolford also led PItt State with five block assists, while Lana DaSilva added four. Ashlen Schwartz recorded 18 digs. Shelbey Baker just missed double figures with nine digs.
Pitt State will be at home again on Tuesday night against No. 14 Central Oklahoma, who is 15-1 on the season.
