PITTSBURG — The University of Central Oklahoma rushed out to a 28-7 lead and compiled 635 yards of total offense as the Bronchos posted a 49-31 victory over Pittsburg State University in the regular season finale for both schools Saturday (Nov. 14).
T.J. Eckert completed 31 of 41 passes for 410 yards and three touchdowns while Clay McKenzie rushed 17 times for 167 yards and three scores as UCO (6-5, 6-5 MIAA) ended the regular season on a four-game winning streak.
Thomas LePage completed 11 of 28 passes for 170 yards and two scores for Pitt State (6-5, 6-5 MIAA), including a 99-yard connection to wide receiver Levi Copelin. LePage also rushed the ball 13 times for 80 yards as the Gorillas gained 343 yards on the ground.
Linebackers Colby Hall and Spencer Brown made a team-leading 12 tackles apiece for the Gorillas. Quad Ware also logged double digit stops with 10. Darian Taylor made five tackles from his safety spot and he also broke loose for a 64-yard touchdown run on a fake punt.
Malcolm Howard made a game-high 15 tackles for the Bronchos.
