EMPORIA -- The Emporia State University baseball team overcame an 8-6 deficit with three runs in the late innings to claim a 9-8 victory over Pittsburg State University Sunday (Apr. 26) at Glennen Field.
The Gorillas finish their season 18-29 overall record and 12-20 in the MIAA. The Hornets advance to the MIAA Postseason Tournament with a 34-12 overall record and a 23-12 MIAA slate.
Pitt State jumped out to a 4-2 lead then rallied from a 6-4 deficit with a four-run sixth inning. A pair of ESU errors led to the big inning. The Hornets committed five errors in the contest, allowing seven unearned runs to score in the contest.
Christian Arnold went 4-for-5 with a double and one RBI, while Nate Arnold went 3-for-5 with two RBI for the Gorillas.
