RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. -- While the Gorillas (0-9) won their first set against Southern Nazarene (5-5) in the first game of the MIAA/GAC Crossover Tournament at Arkansas Tech, they could not close out the match and lost the final three sets to lose the match, 3-1. Set scores were 18-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-23.

The Gorillas hit .162 as a team, compared to .211 for Southern Nazarene. Pitt State had fewer errors and fewer attempts, but the Crimson Storm put down 11 more kills. The Gorillas outblocked SNU, 7.0 to 3.0.

Taylor Unke led the Gorillas offense as she put up a .409 attack percentage with a team high 11 kills and only two errors in 22 attempts. Lauren Regier hit .381 with nine kills and one error on 21 attempts. Lana DaSilva added eight kills.

Defensively, DaSilva was Pitt State's top blocker six block assists. Maggie Highberger added five block assists. Ashlen Schwartz recorded 23 digs and Taylor Wright had 13.

Pitt State will continue play on Saturday with an 11 a.m. match agaisnt Harding and a 3 p.m. match against Arkansas Tech. Live stats and live video will be available for both matches from Arkansas Tech.
