KEARNEY, Neb. -- The Pitt State Volleyball team lost to No. 5 Nebraska-Kearney, 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-7) on Friday night (October 14).
The first set was the best for the Gorillas as they tallied 10 of their 21 kills in the opener. The team added seven kills in the second set and only four in the third. The Lopers put up double figure kills in each of the three sets. PItt State did have more blocks 4.0 to 3.0.
Lauren Regier led Pitt State with eight kills. Zoey Qi and Taylor Unke each added four, along with two block assists. Setter Cal VanBuskirk also had two block assists to go with her 18 assists. Ashlen Schwartz led the team with 12 digs, while Lauren Maisberger added nine.
The Gorillas will continue their westward road trip on Saturday with a 2 p.m. match against the Fort Hays State Tigers at 2 p.m. in Hays, Kan.
