Box Score STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State men's basketball game came out of the gates running and kept on four 40 minutes as they earned a 117-64 win over Pittsburg State in exhibition action on Tuesday (November 1) at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The Gorillas shot .388 (19-49) from the floor and .455 (5-11) from long range. The Cowboys hit .652 (43-66) overall and .636 (14-22) from beyond the arc. PSU scored 42 points off 29 Gorilla turnovers.
Three Gorillas scored in double figures, led by Miles Harrison with 13. Brandon Clifford and R.J. Pair each added 12. Pair hit two of the Gorillas five threes. Jordan Phelps was Pitt State's leading rebounder with four.
The Gorillas trailed 57-26 at the half. The Cowboys started the game on a 12-0 run and did not allow the Gorillas to score until two Creighton Brinker free throws right out of the under 16 minute timeout. Pitt State scored its first point from the floor on a layup by Jordan Phelps with 13:52 to go. The team scored 16 of its points in the last six minutes of the half.
Pitt State opens regular season play on Friday, November 11 against Minnesota State-Mankato at the MIAA/NSIC Conference Challenge in St. Cloud, Minn. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m.
