BOLIVAR, Mo. — The Pittsburg State University men's basketball team opened the second half on a 22-2 run to turn a four-point halftime deficit into a commanding double-digit lead. The Gorillas road that wave to an 85-72 road win over Southwest Baptist University Saturday (Feb. 20).
The Gorillas (16-11, 11-10 MIAA) posted their fourth straight win and climbed to seventh place in the MIAA standings. The Bearcats slipped to 10-16 overall and 5-15 in conference play.
Dakota Jones scored a game-high 23 points to pace the Gorillas, who shot 55.3 percent from the field in the game (26 of 47). Jones made eight of 11 shots in the contest, including three 3-pointers.
Trey Starks and Jaxon Holden added 14 points apiece.
Kai Woodfall led four SBU players in double figures with 18 points.
