WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Although the third set was close, No. 10 Central Missouri proved to be a difficult match up for the Gorilla Volleyball team on the road Saturday (Sept. 24). Pitt State lost to the Jennies in straight sets, 25-15, 25-17 and 25-22.Â
The Jennies earned a .337 attack percentage for the match, while the Gorillas were held to .071. The Gorillas were able to outblock the home team, 6.0 to 3.0.Â
Zoey Qi, Taylor Unke and Taylor Wright led PItt State with five kills a piece. Qi, Unke and Lauren Regier each had three blocks. Ashlen Schwartz and Wright headed the team's defensive unit with eight digs a piece.Â
The Gorillas will finally get to play a home game, as they will play host to undefeated Northwest Missouri on Friday (September 30) at 6 p.m., followed by a Saturday afternoon match at 3 p.m. with Missouri Western.
