PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University volleyball team will return to John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court to host a pair of MIAA matches Friday and Saturday (Oct. 12-13). The Gorillas will battle Lindenwood University Friday at 6 p.m. and then take on the University of Central Missouri Saturday at 2 p.m.
Scouting the Gorillas
Pitt State is 15-7 overall and 4-5 in MIAA playing heading into the weekend action. The Gorillas are seeking to halt a three-match losing streak when they face the Lions Friday.

Pitt State dropped a pair of 3-0 decisions to Northwest Missouri State University and Missouri Western State University in its last matches Oct. 5-6.
Offensively, senior rightside hitter Lauren Regier leads the squad with 236 kills (2.95 kps) followed closely by freshman outside hitter Meg Auten with 154 kills (2.44 kps).

Two setters contribute to the Gorillas offense: sophomore Camryn Blanton averages 8.90 assists per set and freshman Brianna Richard contributes 2.98 assists per set.

Junior defensive specialist Lauren Dunn averages 4.72 digs per set and 0.65 service aces per set, while junior defensive specialist Lauren Maisberger contributes 2.18 digs per set. Sophomore middle blocker Emily Regier averages 0.96 blocks per set.
Scouting the Opposition
LWU enters Friday's action at 11-8 overall and 3-6 in MIAA play.
Sophomore outside hitter Alexa Pressley leads the team with 186 kills (2.78 kps) and sophomore middle blocker Sadie Kosciuk chips in with 2.57 kills per set and 1.12 blocks per set. Defensive specialist Sara Wagenknecht contributes 3.13 digs per set.
UCM is 16-5 overall and 6-3 in the MIAA entering a Friday road match against the University of Central Oklahoma.
Sophomore Audrey Fisher (3.56 kps) leads the Jennies offense with sophomore Ally Offerdahl averaging 10.71 assists per set. UCM's defensive leaders are junior defensive specialist Abby Skrastins with 348 digs (4.64 dps) and freshman middle blocker Hannah Engelken with 0.97 blocks per set.
