PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University volleyball team will travel to Edmond, Okla., Tuesday (Oct. 16) for a mid-week match against MIAA rival University of Central Oklahoma. First serve is set for 7 p.m. (CDT).

Scouting the Gorillas
Pitt State is 15-9 overall and 4-7 in MIAA play. The Gorillas dropped a pair of home matches to Lindenwood University, 3-2, Friday (Oct. 12) and the University of Central Missouri, 3-1, Saturday (Oct. 13).

Senior rightside hitter Lauren Regier has compiled a team-leading 262 kills (2.94 kps) on the season while freshman outside hitter Meg Auten has added 170 kills (2.36 kps).

Sophomore middle blocker Emily Regier has contributed 0.99 blocks per set to lead the team at the net and junior defensive specialist Lauren Dunn has added 4.48 digs per set to help pace the Pitt State defense.

The Opponent:
UCO is 21-4 overall and 9-2 in the MIAA. The Bronchos, who have won five straight matches, collected a pair of home wins last week over UCM (3-2) and LWU (3-0) last week.

Offensively, senior outside hitter Taylor Bevis leads the Bronchos with 3.75 kills per set while sophomore outside hitter Haley Deschenes adds 2.62 kills per set. Junior defensive specialist Dominique Lipari averages 5.36 digs per set. Senior Jordan Spence (0.96 bps) and sophomore middle blocker Malia Kaaiohelo (0.81 bps) lead the Bronchos at the net.
