TOPEKA, Kan. — The Washburn University volleyball team collected a straight set win over Pittsburg State University Saturday (Nov. 5). The Ichabods defeated the Gorillas 25-19, 25-16, 25-12.
WU (27-3, 15-3 MIAA) had a match-high 12 kills from Kelsey Gordon followed by Genna Berg with 7. The Ichabods defense was led by Faith Rottinghaus with 10 digs in the match.
Pitt State hit just .042 in the match. Lauren Regier led the team with nine kills, while Meg Auten had five kills. Marissa Bates paced the Gorillas defense with 8 digs, while Brianna Richard collected 20 assists for the offense.
Pitt State finishes the regular season with an 18-13 overall record and 7-11 MIAA mark.
