PITTSBURG — The Washburn University softball team swept an MIAA doubleheader from Pittsburg State University Saturday (Mar. 10) at the PSU Softball Complex. The Ichabods defeated the Gorillas, 7-4 and 11-1.
Pitt State dropped to 9-17 overall and 1-5 in MIAA play, while Washburn improved to 17-6 overall and 5-1 in conference action.
Kala Holder led the Gorillas in game one, going 3-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored. Mike Hayward also hit a two-run home run.
In the nightcap, the Ichabods limited Pitt State to four hits. Shelby Miller led the Gorillas going 2-for-3.
