ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- Grant Lozoya and Demetrius Levarity combined for 40 points to lead the Pittsburg State University men's basketball team to an 85-76 victory over Lindenwood University Saturday (Jan. 5) at Hyland Arena.
Lozoya scored a team-high 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. Levarity added 17 points as the Gorillas (10-3, 3-1 MIAA) picked up their 10
th win of the season.
Pitt State shot 51.8 percent from the field in the game (29-56) and the Gorillas owned a 32-22 advantage on the defensive glass. Pitt State also converted 18 of 19 charity shots as the Gorillas enjoyed a 12-point edge at the foul line.
Donovan Franklin added 16 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Trenton Clayton scored 10 points and shot for a perfect 100% from the field (5-5).
Lindenwood (9-7, 2-2 MIAA) got 25 points from Chandler Diekvoss and 18 points from Brad Newman. Newman made four of nine 3-point field goal attempts as the Lions knocked down 12 3-pointers in the game.
