PITTSBURG, Kan.— The Pittsburg State University Gorillas volleyball team was unable to overcome the quick offense of the No. 5 ranked Washburn Ichabods on Saturday.
With the loss the Gorillas fall to 9-8 on the season overall and 4-4 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) while the Ichabods improve to 15-1 overall and 7-1 in the MIAA.
Washburn won with set scores 27-25, 25-20 and 25-10.
The Gorillas were led by Erika Ivkov and Meg Auten, who had nine kills each while Morgan Henning had eight.
The Gorillas return to the road for a Tuesday match up in Joplin when they take on Missouri Southern at 6 p.m. They will than return home next Friday and Saturday for 6 p.m. tilts with Nebraska-Kearney (Friday) and Fort Hays State (Saturday).
