PITTSBURG -- Meghan Maher and Maya Williams scored 20 points apiece to help lead the Pittsburg State University women's basketball team to a 96-51 victory over Central Christian College Saturday (Nov. 16) at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court.
Williams posted a double double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. She made seven of 10 shots from the floor including a pair of 3-pointers. Maher poured in six 3-pointers in the contest.
Tristan Gegg chipped in with 19 points for the Gorillas, while Kaylee DaMitz added nine points, seven assists and three steals. Julia Johnson finished with five points and a team leading 13 rebounds.
Pitt State shot 39.3 percent from the field in the game (33-84), but the Gorillas benefited from 24 offensive rebounds. Pitt State also converted 18 of 24 free throws in a game slowed by 59 combined fouls and 64 combined free throw attempts.
Holly Golden paced the Tigers with 18 points and 16 rebounds, while Tania Lowe also scored in double figures with 12 points.
