PITTSBURG -- The Missouri Southern State University men's basketball team outscored Pittsburg State University, 13-3, over the final 5:10 to pull away for a 95-84 victory Saturday (Feb. 16) at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court.
The Lions (20-5, 11-4 MIAA) scored 13 straight points to turn an 82-81 margin into a 95-81 advantage against the Gorillas (14-10, 7-8 MIAA).
Christian Edmondson posted his first career double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead Pitt State. Grant Lozoya added 17 points and Donovan Franklin finished with 15 points.
Braelon Walker led five MSSU players in double figures with a game-high 23 points. Cam Martin added a double-double with 14 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Elyjah Clark (18), Kinzer Lambert (15) and Enis Memic (11) also scored in double figures.
Pitt State and MSSU will face one another again Tuesday at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center at Joplin, Mo.
