Pitt State Rallies in Waning Minutes For 73-69 Road Win

EMPORIA, Kan. — The Pittsburg State University men's basketball team closed out the game on a 12-2 run over the final 3:41 to rally for a 73-69 road win over Emporia State University Thursday (Feb. 21) at W.L. White Auditorium.

The Gorillas (15-11, 8-9 MIAA) snapped a seven-game losing streak with the victory against the Hornets (11-14, 6-10 MIAA).

Donovan Franklin scored a team-high 21 points to help spark Pitt State to the win. He made six of 13 shots from the floor and seven of seven free attempts in the contest. Christian Edmondson added 11 points and eight rebounds, while Grant Lozoya chipped in with 10 points, eight rebounds and three assists.

Julius Jackson scored a game-high 22 points for the Hornets, while Hassan Thomas added 11 points and eight rebounds.

The Gorillas will return to action next Thursday (Feb. 28) when Pitt State travels to Kearney, Neb., to face the University of Nebraska-Kearney at 7:30 p.m.
