PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University softball team ended regular season play Saturday (Apr. 27) with a doubleheader split against University of Central Oklahoma. The Bronchos defeated the Gorillas, 4-1, in game one, but the Gorillas bounced back with a 5-3 victory in the nightcap.

The Bronchos Bailey McKittrick (21-2) pitched a complete game allowing only three hits in the opener. Pitt State stranded one base runner in the contest.
Pitt State (26-25, 14-12 MIAA) scored two runs in the sixth inning in game two and held Central Oklahoma (41-5, 23-3 MIAA) scoreless in the seventh inning to pull out the win.
Kala Holder paced the Gorillas' 7-hit attack, going 2-for-3 with one run scored and three RBI's. Alicia Lowrey also belted one RBI home run for Pitt State in the contest.
Halle Brin (16-13) earned the win. She pitched two innings of relief work and allowed only one hit.
