LUBBOCK, Texas — The Pittsburg State Gorillas Volleyball team lost two straight at the 2019 Chap Classic Tournament. After falling to host Lubbock Christian University in four sets, they fell to Dixie State in three straight, 25-14, 25-17 and 25-22.
Pitt State fell to 4-2 on the season after the loss. The Gorillas will take on Black Hills State at 9 a.m. and then University of Texas-Permian Basin to close out the non-conference portion of their season at the Chap Classic on Saturday.
The Gorillas struggled on the offensive side of the ball as they had 24 kills and 25 errors on 102 attacks during the game. Despite that, Erika Ivkov had six kills while Emily Regier had five and Claire Sandvig had four. Brianna Richard tallied 17 assists in the contest and Marissa Bates led the way with 12 digs,
