WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The University of Central Missouri women's basketball team built a 14-point halftime lead and never looked back in claiming a 72-50 win over Pittsburg State University Wednesday (Jan. 15) at the Multipurpose Building.
Nija Collier scored a game high 21 points to lead UCM (12-3, 6-0 MIAA), which claimed its 10th consecutive victory after a 2-3 start to the season.
Tristan Gegg scored a team leading 16 points and grabbed six rebounds to pace Pitt State (8-7, 4-3 MIAA). She was the lone Gorillas player to score in double figures. Erin Davis added nine points, while Marine Bauza Rubert chipped in with seven. The Gorillas shot just 37 percent from the field in the game (20-54).
