PITTSBURG -- Cam Martin scored a gae himgh 37 points to lead No. 15 ranked Missouri Southern State University to a 79-72 victory over the Pittsburg State University men's basketball team Saturday (Jan. 25) at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court.
The Gorillas (7-11, 3-6 MIAA) battled back from a nine-point second-half deficit to take a 57-56 lead on a basket by Christian Edmondson with 7:55 to play in the game. The Lions (15-3, 8-1 MIAA) scored the next nine points to take control.
A.J. Walker scored a career-high 27 points to lead the Gorillas. Antonio Givens II added 15 points, while Jah-Kobe Womack (13) and Edmondson (12) also finished in double figures. Walker chipped in with six rebounds and six assists in the contest.Â
The Gorillas will return to action Wednesday (Jan. 29) when they host MIAA newcomer Rogers State University at 7:30 p.m. (CST).
