WARRENSBURG, Mo. — The University of Central Missouri men's basketball team shot 56 percent from the field in the game to hold off Pittsburg State University, 88-80, Saturday (Nov. 28) at the Multipurpose Building.
UCM led by just five points, 70-65, with 4:11 to play in the game, but the Mules outscored Pitt State (2-1, 2-1 MIAA) stretched its margin to as many as 11 points down the stretch before settling for the eight-point win.
Quentin Hardrict Jr. paced the Gorillas with a team-leading 20 points, while Bobby Arthur-Williams Jr. added 15 points and eight rebounds. Martin Vogts, Ryan Pippins, R.J. Lawrence and Zach Burch each chipped in with eight points.
Pitt State will return to action next Thursday (Dec. 3) when the Gorillas make their home debut at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court against Rogers State University.
