JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Lincoln University men's basketball team broke open a tight game in the second half and pulled away for a 76-55 victory over Pittsburg State University Thursday (Dec. 10) at Jason Gymnasium.
The Blue Tigers improved to 3-2 (3-2 MIAA) on the season with the win while the Gorillas dropped to 3-3 (3-3 MIAA).
Martin Vogts paced Pitt State with 14 points. He was the lone Gorilla player to reach double figures in scoring. Ryan Pippins added nine points, while Bobby Arthur-Williams Jr. finished with eight points and 10 rebounds.
The Gorillas struggled from the field in the game, shooting just 36.4 percent overall (20-55).
Quinton Drayton led a balanced LU offensive attack with 16 points.
Pitt State will return to action next Thursday (Dec. 17) when the Gorillas entertain MIAA rival Missouri Western State University at 7:30 p.m. (CST).
