PITTSBURG — R.J. Forney hit eight three-point field goals and scored a game high 24 points to lead the Pittsburg State University men's basketball team to an 85-70 exhibition game victory over Baker University Thursday (Dec. 31) at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court.

Forney connected on eight of 11 long-range shots in the contest to help the Gorillas pull away from the pesky Wildcats in the second half. Pitt State led Baker, 43-39, at the intermission.

The Gorillas shot 51.7 percent from the field in the game (31-60), including 56.7 percent (17-30) in the final 20 minutes of play.

Quentin Hardrict Jr. contributed 13 points and nine assists for Pitt State, while Zach Burch added 13 points and six rebounds. Cameron Huefner chipped in with 11 points while Bobby Arthur-Williams Jr. finsihed with eight points, five rebounds and four assists.

Pitt State will return to regular season play Saturday (Jan. 2) when the Gorillas entertain No. 1 ranked Northwest Missouri State University at 3:30 p.m. (CST).
