PITTSBURG -- Kaylee DaMitz scored a game-high 22 points to help lead the Pittsburg State University women's basketball team to a 54-41 victory over Lincoln University Wednesday (Feb. 26) at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court.
The Gorillas (17-9, 13-5 MIAA) overcame a 27 percent shooting night (14-51) by outscoring the Blue Tigers (3-24, 0-18 MIAA), 22-2, at the free throw line in the contest. Pitt State converted 22 of 26 charity shots overall with DaMitz knocking down 14 of 15 attempts.
Meghan Maher added nine points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots. Athena Alvarado and Maya Williams chipped in with seven points apiece.
Virja Lewis paced Lincoln with 16 points, while Vivian Chigbu finished with six points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
