PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg State University volleyball team will travel to Edmond, Okla., for a MIAA matchup with the University of Central Oklahoma Tuesday (Oct. 19). First serve is set for 6 p.m. (CDT).
This will be the second meeting this season between the Gorillas and the Bronchos. Pitt State defeated UCO, 3-0, on Sept. 17 in Pittsburg.
Scouting the Gorillas
- The Gorillas enter Tuesday's action with an 11-8 overall record and a 5-6 mark in MIAA play after dropping a pair of matches to No. 15 UNK and FHS last week.
- Junior libero Marissa Bates ranks in the top 10 in the MIAA in digs with 277 in 64 sets on the season.
- Outside hitter Meg Auten currently sits 6th in points with 223 in 65 sets.
- Setter Brianna Richard ranks in the top 50 in the nation in assists with 646.
Scouting the Bronchos
- Central Oklahoma enters the contest with a 14-5 overall record (7-4 MIAA). The Bronchos currently sit fourth in the standings.
- Sophomore outside hitter Courtney Lane is ranked 3rd in kills with 231 in 65 sets.
Following Tuesday's action, the Gorillas will return home for matches against Northwest Missouri State University Friday (Oct. 22) and Missouri Western State University Saturday (Oct. 23).
