PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg State University volleyball team took down Missouri Western State University in five sets Saturday (oct. 23), 3-2.

The Griffons would take the first set by a score of 25-18. The Gorillas would return the favor in set to taking the set, 25-18. Missouri Western would take a nail-bitting third set 25-22. Pitt State would tie the match up in set four with a 25-15 score.

In the fifth and final set the Gorillas would take an early 10-3 lead forcing a Griffon timeout. The Griffons would come back to only trail by two 14-13. The Gorillas would finish the match and take the set 15-13.

Senior middle hitter Hope White tallied 15 kills in the match. Setter Bri Richard notched 54 assists and a kill against the Griffons.
