Kansas City, Mo. – The Pittsburg State University men's basketball team dropped it second game of the season to Upper Iowa University, 69-66.
A fast start on offense saw the Gorillas on top of the Peacocks 16-11 halfway through the 1st half. Pitt State was able to hold onto the five point advantage into the half.
At the 14 minute mark of the 2nd half the Peacocks would tie the game at 44. From the 14 minute mark till the end the Peacocks would keep the lead. The Gorillas would struggle down the stretch having a few missed opportunities to tie the game.
Three Gorillas would score in double figures led by Iziah James with 18 points. Tyler Hawkins would drop 14 points and Cameron Huefner would end with 13 for the Gorillas.
