Topeka – The Pittsburg State University volleyball team ended its season with a loss to Washburn University Tuesday (Nov. 16), 3-0.
In the third matchup between the two MIAA rivals the Gorillas entered with a six seed in the MIAA tournament while the Ichabods garnered the three seed.
Washburn would use its high powered offense to take the first set 25-19. The momentum would stay with the Ichabods and take set 25-17. A battle in the third and final set would eventually go the way of the Ichabods, 25-20.
Junior setter Brianna Richard tallied 32 assists and a kill against the Ichabods. Junior Meg Auten and sophomore Janae Thurston both notched eight kills in the match.
