PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg State University volleyball team fell to No. 3 ranked Washburn University in four sets, 3-1.

The Gorillas would open up the match early with a 25-22 set one victory over the Ichabods. The victory in set one stopped a nine set win streak for Washburn.

Early in the set junior setter Bri Richard surpassed 2000 career assist for Gorilla volleyball. Richard moved to number seven in career assist in Pitt State history.

After a loss in the first set the Ichabods would turn around and take the second set 25-12. The third set went the way of the Ichabods, 25-14. Washburn would finish the match with a 25-20 set three victory.

Sophomore Janae Thurston tallied 14 kills in the match. Junior Bri Richard notched 34 assists and six digs against the Ichabods.
