PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University volleyball team opened its 2020-21 spring season Saturday (Feb. 20) by hosting a pair of MIAA rivals at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court.

The Gorillas dropped a 3-1 decision to Washburn University and a 3-0 decision to Northwest Missouri State University. The Ichabods defeated Pitt State, 25-19, 22-25, 25-16, 25-19. The Bearcats downed the Gorillas, 25-22, 25-20, 25-17.

Pitt State will return to action next Thursday (Feb. 25) when the Gorillas travel to Emporia, Kan., to take on Emporia State University at 6 p.m. (CST) at W.L. White Auditorium.
